Job Goals:
To work directly with students and their families within an assigned school in order to provide counseling services designed to assist students in developing skills, and identifying matters in the areas of academic achievement, career/postssecondary education exploration, and personal/social growth.
Job Duties:
- Assists with collaborstion among the department and with other areas to find information to share with their students
- Performs crisis intervention
- Consults with colleagues, teachers, and administration
- Consults with parents
- Provides academic planning
- Participates in state and national testing and assessments
- Assist with scheduling
- Analyzes data for student planning
- Attends require meetings
- Provides a list of resources for families and students to meet their psychological and physical needs
- Plans and participates in once-a-year student seminars
Qualifications:
- Minimum of Master's degree and Tennessee teaching license with appropriate counseling endorsement (087, 487) required
- Teaching and/or school counseling experience preferred
- New Position Pending Board Approval
