JOB EXPECTATIONS:
- Work with 5th through 12th grade students with Gifted IEPs.
- Plan, create, and deliver daily enrichment with 5th and 6th grade students with Gifted IEPs or identified Talented and Creative Learners.
- Effectively manage a caseload at Jefferson Middle and Oak Ridge High School
- Daily work load would include case management, two Enrichment classes, and two daily general education special area/career exploration rotations/RTI classes.
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the learner
- Demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively with regular education teachers, special education staff, and school psychologists
- Be able to develop an appropriate learning environment with effective classroom management
- Be able to communicate effectively
- Communicates effectively with student stakeholders
- Be able to use effective instructional methods
- Demonstrate ability to organize and plan the instructional program
- Demonstrate skills in evaluating the instructional program and student progress
- Possess effective interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate willingness to grow professionally
- Demonstrate knowledge of subject area
- Special Education case management
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree and Tennessee teaching license with appropriate endorsement required, such as
- Gifted 466,
- SPED Interventionist K-8 144,
- SPED Interventionist 6-12 145
- SPED Comprehensive 461.
Teaching experience preferred. Mathematics certification or Computer Science certification a plus.
Salary paid in accordance with the Teacher Salary Schedule.
**Salary is based on 2023-2024 salary schedule subject to increase district budget is approved**
